This cabin is a delight. It’s comfortable and quiet with lots of room to spread out. The kitchen is well equipped. We were very happy to find comfortable beds and a more than sufficient quantity of clean, fluffy bathroom towels. We enjoyed relaxing in the TV room in front of the gas fireplace. Alternatively there’s a wood burning fireplace in the main living room but we did not end up using it even though our thoughtful hosts had provided wood. Above all, the communication was excellent ensuring that everything was perfect. I plan on recommending this cabin to my friends who are considering a vacation in this area!
We loved our stay in this spacious and well appointed cottage. The owners are obviously passionate about decorating and maintaining this gem of a vacation rental. Rustic elegance. Very clean, A/C was great in the summer heat, plenty of hot water, nice big towels, fenced back yard. We would definitely stay again.
The Beechwood Cottage is simply put a wonderful place to stay when visiting the Laurel Highlands. It's just a beautiful cottage. I was calling it 'The Pintrest House' because of all of the beautiful, clever, creative decorations! Hand painted floors and trim, antiques, and collectibles as well as comfortable furniture make up the decor. From the outside the place looks small but inside it spreads out enough to give guests some privacy while the gathering areas are spacious and inviting. All in all a hidden treasure.!
My wife and I really enjoyed the place, In the dead of Winter it stayed warm 2 fireplaces great place to relax, unwind and rejuvenate.
We needed a quiet respite from“real life” and we found it here. Warm colors throughout the cottage inspire a cozy feel immediately, The solid downpour outside was a surprising gift...we were able to enjoy the gas fireplace in the tv room, prepare a dinner for two in the well-equipped kitchen, and take time to unplug and enjoy some conversation. Tom and Christen are so accommodating and offer great tips for places to dine, shopping, and unique spots in Ligonier. We can’t wait to go back.
This is a unique gem of a cottage, and we found it to be a place of true refuge. It is beyond lovely decorated -- it is curated with beautiful painted floors, doors, and pieces of art. We only used the master bedroom and bath, and found them to be totally comfortable. In the morning and at twilight, you can hear birds singing throughout the area. The back patio and yard are lovely - I sat out there for a good portion of my stay, and saw cardinals, doves, robins, nut hatches, a cat bird, an actual cat or two!, a hawk, and many other birds.. The kitchen is furnished with everything you need. We set the coffee to automatic and had a hot cup of coffee early in the mornings with the sunrise. I was also working on a project, and the kitchen table area was a perfect place to peacefully work with the windows open. I can't express how much we enjoyed our stay, and we will certainly be back. (I should mention the grocery store is close by, and it is a short drive to hiking trails in the Laurel State Park).
My friend and I absolutely loved our couple of days here. Tom was so prompt in responding when I had a question. I loved that they had a notebook with information about restaurants in the area. Beautiful cottage and beautiful surroundings! I will be back, Tom and Christen! Thanks for sharing your lovely home. Wish we could've stayed longer.
We visited the cottage the early part of September 2016 for a 3 day getaway. What a wonderful cottage it is! Much larger than you would expect with lovely rooms, very clean and a nice location. Though it was very hot/humid outside, the cottage was so comfortable with excellent central air. There are lots of windows which just brings the outside in. We made a great brunch one morning and really enjoyed the farm table in the dining area looking out the bay window onto the back deck and yard. Our hosts were so very nice and were there if we had any questions/concerns. This is a gem in our beautiful Laurel Highlands and would not hesitate at all to visit again!
My wife and two children recently stayed in this cottage. The owners are friendly and a pleasure to deal with. The cottage had a location which is central to many attractions. The cottage is so nice though that you hesitate to even go out. The price was reasonable comparative to others we have stayed at in the area. We do plan on going back. Highly recommend.
Thanks for the kind words, Michael. We look forward to having you & your family back soon!
I stayed in the cottage with my wife and 4 small children when we were in the area for a family reunion. We could not have been more pleased with the cottage! The owners have done a wonderful job renovating and decorating, lots of charm! Compared to all the other choices in the area this home stands out. I love the painted floors and the hand painted faux finished on the trim. My children played in the yard we walked through the quaint community. Great location for tours of Fallingwater (which I did with my oldest daughter) and Kentuck Knob (next time), and if we had more time we thought Fort Ligonier looked interesting. Highly recommend!
