Is it a Ligonier Cabin or Ligonier Cottage? Or both?
Call it a Ligonier Cabin or a Ligonier Cottage – we want our cozy, quaint and beautifully appointed vacation rental to be your home in the Laurel Highlands. Many of our friends who are repeat guests call it their Ligonier Cabin. Some folks prefer cottage. Either is fine with us.
Our Ligonier Vacation Rental is in “The Park” an historic community of cabins in Laurel Mountain Borough. The Park is a quiet & rustic neighborhood of about 90 charming homes under tall trees along quiet mountain roads. Located 1/2 mile east of Laughlintown, PA and just 3 miles from Ligonier, PA, “The Park” got it’s start in the 1930s as a summer vacation community. We’re thrilled to welcome a new generation of guests to what was known as Laurel Mountain Park. We made our full time home in the Park for over 22 years and find special enjoyment in sharing our vacation home community with visitors.
It’s a Special Place in a One of a Kind Setting
Beechwood Cottage was formerly an artist’s home and studio. It is an eclectic, artistic, inviting and relaxing retreat awaiting your arrival. Your visit to Beechwood Cottage will awaken your creative spirit and recharge your soul with art and nature’s wonder.
Your Ligonier Cabin is a true original and reflects our many years as part of this special community. We love sharing it, and this place, with visitors from around the world who are looking for a change from the ordinary that’s elegant, unexpected, welcoming and inviting. You’ll love Beechwood Cottage – it’s little bit art, a whole lot of love and one of a kind around every corner.
Your inspiration will begin when you enter and enjoy the hand-painted details of the large enclosed front porch. As you step through the wide interior door, you’ll be delighted by expansive, beamed ceilings of the great room. You can relax at one of the home’s two fireplaces. The first is a floor-to-ceiling wood-burning beauty made of hand cut sandstone and a second in the cozy den and featuring the glow and warmth of gas logs. As you explore the house, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, private spaces for quiet reading or contemplation, a farm table ready to host your new family memories, a great outdoor space, private fenced yard and a fun and delighting mix of cottage antiques, original art and one of a kind style.
Beechwood Cottage’s three bedrooms feature views of nature’s beauty from every vantage point, in every season. Visitors will want to explore around every corner and be amazed by the painstaking work in the hand painted floors. You’ll love the details of the whimsical decoupage. We invite you to check out the faux-paint finish of the master bathroom vanity – artfully transformed from plain wood to curly, burled maple.
We enjoy traveling around the world. You’ll find our adventures represented everywhere in the house. From the Mexican kitchen tiles (carried back from Tijuana), to the intriguing decoupage cornices, or an framework of seashells gathered from beaches around the world. The delightful details around every corner will excite, engage and inspire the creative you.
The interior of Beechwood Cottage was not bought in a big box store. It continues to evolve and has been created and curated to reflect us, our love of craftsmanship, original art and our journeys and inspirations from our own travels to many corners of the globe. Travel that has grown our world, opened our eyes yet always led us home to the beautiful and historic Ligonier valley.
Welcome to Beechwood Cottage.
